Robert Houston Eggers is an American filmmaker. After working for years as a production designer, he became known for writing and directing the period horror films The Witch, The Lighthouse and Nosferatu, as well as co-writing and directing the Viking action film The Northman. Noted for his attention to historical period detail, his films often incorporate elements of folklore and mythology.
